Fleeting
Through mixed media techniques and explorations, I’m emphasizing the “micro” in this series, studying in detail the intricateness and ephemeral beauty of tree branches suspended in time and space.
I typically focus on the macro in my landscapes, until I chanced upon several falling branches during my neighbourhood walk one stormy-morning. The moment made me pause, and forced me to observe what was immediately in front of me, instead of what usually lies in the distance. Whether by coincidence or fate, it was a breakthrough point in my work that made me evolve and look inward rather than outward. Perhaps it was also a reminder of the powerful dichotomy of nature -- resilient yet fragile and fleeting.
